Jared Lawrence Sandberg...resides in Olympia, WA, with his wife Julie and children Evan and Clara...attended Capital High School in Olympia, WA...selected by Tampa Bay in the 16th round of the 1996 MLB First-Year Player Draft...is the nephew of Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg.

MANAGING/COACHING CAREER

Sandberg is in his first season as the Mariners Major League field coordinator, and his first year as a big league coach, overall...spent the last 11 seasons working in the Rays organization, including the last 10 seasons as a minor league manager...led his clubs to 7 winning seasons and 3 league championships... boasts a career mark of 612-522 (.540) as a minor league manager...was the Durham (AAA) skipper for last 4 seasons: led the Bulls to back-to-back International League titles in 2017 and 2018, highlighted by the Triple-A National Championship in 2017...managed Charlotte (FSL) in 2014 and Bowling Green (MWL) in 2013...spent three seasons (2010-2012) with Hudson Valley (NYP) after beginning his managerial career with Princeton... started his coaching career with Hudson Valley in 2008.

PLAYING CAREER

Had a 12-year playing career as an infielder, including 3 Major League seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays (2001-03)....spent a total of 9 seasons in the Rays organization and holds the Rays all-time minor league record with 113 home runs, 473 RBI and 417 runs...played for four AA clubs after leaving Tampa organization following the 2004 season, appearing in the Boston, Houston and Cleveland organizations.
