James Robert Brower...resides in Deephaven, MN, with wife Jessica and daughter Landry...played in 1985 Little League World Series with East Tonka Little League...graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1991 where he played baseball, basketball & football… selected in the 56th round of the 1991 Draft by Pittsburgh Pirates but did not sign... attended the University of Minnesota; was All-Big-10 in 1994 and won Dave Winfield Award as Gophers top pitcher...selected by Texas in 6th round of 1994 Draft

MANAGING/COACHING CAREER

Begins his first season as the Big League assistant coach, and his first year as a Major League coach, overall...spent past two seasons as the Chicago Cubs minor league pitching coordinator...was pitching coach for AA NW Arkansas (the Royals AA affiliate) from 2013 - 2015... began his pro coaching career as the pitching coach with single-A Kane County in 2011 and 2012.

PLAYING CAREER

Appeared in parts of 9 Major League seasons with Cleveland (1999- 2000), Cincinnati (2001-2002), Montreal (2002), San Francisco (2003-2005), Atlanta (2005), Baltimore (2006), San Diego (2006) and New York-AL (2007)...appeared in Division Series in 2003 (w/SF: 2 G, 0-0, 6.00) and 2005 (w/ATL: 3G, 0-0, 0.00)...pitched in Japan's Central League with the Hiroshima Carp in 2008...appeared in 18 games in the Independent Leagues in 2009 before finishing his career pitching in Italy in 2010...compiled an overall Major League record of 33-32 with 5 saves in 354 games, including 28 starts.
