SEATTLE -- Outfielder Ryan Langerhans, who was designated for assignment on Thursday, cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma. He will join the Rainiers on Wednesday.
Langerhans made one appearance this season, flying out in a pinch-hit role against the Athletics in Oakland. He was replaced by right-handed reliever Jesus Colome the following day as the Mariners needed a 12th pitcher more than an extra position player.
Langerhans, acquired from the Nationals for outfielder Mike Morse last season, contributed two walk-off home runs in 38 games for the Mariners in 2009.
