Seattle Mariners announce extension for General Manager Jack Zduriencik

Seattle Mariners President & Chief Operating Officer Kevin Mather announced today that the club and Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik have agreed to a multi-year contract extension.

Zduriencik is completing his sixth season in 2014 as head of Mariners baseball operations. A 35-year veteran in Major League Baseball, Jack worked with four organizations (Mets, Dodgers, Pirates and Brewers) prior to joining the Mariners.

Mather said, "Since Jack took over after the 2008 season, we have been building toward our ultimate goal, which is to win the World Series. We believe, with the efforts of Jack and his staff, we are now well-positioned as an organization to be a contender for many years to come."
