PEORIA, Ariz -- Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced tonight that outfielder Corey Patterson, who was in camp as a non-roster player, has opted out of his contract.

Patterson is now a free agent, available to sign with any team.

Patterson appeared in 19 games this spring, and batted .216 (8-for-37) with 2 doubles, 2 home runs and 2 RBI.

Tonight's roster move leaves the Mariners with 32 players in their Major League Camp, 27 roster players and 5 non-roster invitees.
