His bizarre two-bagger was taken away, however, after Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon challenged the call at first. A review of 59 seconds was all the replay crew needed to determine Hunter's instinct was correct -- he was out at first.
McClendon said after the game that the umpiring crew allowed him to challenge the close plays at both bases.
"I definitely saw the first out," McClendon said. "I wasn't sure about the second out. We just needed one, though, so we'll take the first one."
