Mariners recall outfielder James Jones from AAA Tacoma

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik announced the following roster moves:

  • James Jones, OF, recalled from AAA Tacoma
  • Erasmo Ramirez, RHP, optioned to AAA Tacoma (post-game 8/10)

Jones, 25, is in his third stint with Seattle this season, and has hit .258 (75x291) with 38 runs, 8 doubles, 4 triples, 8 RBI with 20 stolen bases in 21 attempts in 79 games over two stints with the Mariners this season. In his most recent 8-game stint with AAA Tacoma is hitting .257 (9x35) with 5 runs, 2 doubles, 2 triples and 4 RBI. In 28 games with the Rainiers this season, he has hit .296 (34x115) with 5 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs, 12 RBI and 5 stolen bases.


Ramirez, 24, tossed 4.1 shutout innings last night but did not factor in the decision. In four stints with the Mariners, he is 1-5 with a 4.06 ERA (29 ER, 64.1 IP) with 54 strikeouts.
