Catcher Jesus Sucre Recalled From AAA Tacoma


SEATTLE, Wash. - Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik announced the following roster moves:

  • Jesus Sucre, C, recalled from AAA Tacoma
  • John Buck, C, designated for assignment (post-game 7/7)

Sucre, 26, was hitting .274 (48x175) with 13 runs, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs and 16 RBI in 48 games including 45 starts at catcher with AAA Tacoma. Over his last 10 games, he was hitting .375 (15x40) with 7 runs, 5 doubles, 1 home run and 2 RBI. On the season, he has caught 51% (21 of 41) of attempted base stealers. Sucre appeared in eight games with Seattle in 2013, all starts.

Buck, 34, appeared in 27 games with Seattle, including 24 starts (C-19, DH-5) and hit .226 (19x84) with 9 runs, 2 doubles, 1 home run and 6 RBI.
