The Seattle Mariners will host an Allergy Awareness Night presented by Mylan Specialty L.P. on Friday, July 26, at 7:10pm when the Mariners meet the Minnesota Twins.
On Allergy Awareness Night at Safeco Field, special sections at the ballpark will be designated exclusively for individuals and families of those who live with potentially life-threatening allergies to peanuts, a fan favorite snack, so they can attend games with a reduced risk of exposure to allergens. Peanut allergies are the most common form of allergy among children.
The special price for tickets in the peanut controlled seating sections is $11 for View Box seats. Tickets in these special sections can only be purchased online at www.mariners.com/nopeanuts.
Three special seating sections (Sections 313, 314, 315) will be set aside during the Allergy Awareness game. No peanuts or peanut products will be permitted there, and only those fans who agree to abide by the peanut ban will be allowed to purchase tickets or be present in the seating sections. Concession stands closest to the seating sections will not sell any food with peanut products as ingredients. These seating sections will be thoroughly cleaned prior to the game to remove as many traces of peanuts as possible.
It should be noted that peanut-controlled does not mean peanut-free. Safeco Field is an open-air ballpark, and peanuts will be present in other areas of the ballpark. Fans with peanut allergies should take all precautions that they customarily take in public places. It is estimated that 12 million Americans have food allergies, three million of them children.
