SEATTLE, Wash. -- Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced today the following roster moves:
- RHP Danny Farquhar selected from AAA Tacoma
- RHP Hector Noesi optioned to AAA Tacoma
- RHP Stephen Pryor transferred from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list
Farquhar (FAHR-kwahr) will be in uniform (#40) and available for tonight's 4:05 pm PT/7:05 pm ET game vs. the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Stephen Pryor has been transferred from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list. The Mariners roster remains full at 40 players, with two players on the 60-day DL (Pryor & Josh Kinney).
Farquhar, 26, was 0-1 with 6 saves and a 2.25 ERA (5 ER, 20.0 IP) in 15 relief appearances with the Tacoma Rainiers. He allowed only one run over his last 11 relief appearances, posting a 0.56 ERA (1 ER, 16.0 IP) while striking out 24 batters and walking only 2.
Farquhar was acquired by Seattle on July 23, 2012 from the New York Yankees along with RHP D.J. Mitchell in exchange for OF Ichiro Suzuki. He made three appearances with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2011 and has posted a 15-18, 2.87 ERA career minor league record. The native of Pembroke Pines, FL was originally selected by the Blue Jays in the 10th round of the 2008 June Draft out of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
Noesi, 26, made an emergency start last night against the Yankees in place of RHP Aaron Harang, and allowed one unearned run in 4.1 innings. In five appearances (1 GS) with the Mariners this season he has posted a 2.63 ERA.
Pryor, 23, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 15 with a tear in his right latissimus dorsi muscle. With his transfer to the 60-day disabled list, he is now eligible to be activated on June 14.
