Mariners Activate Michael Saunders from DL


Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced today the following roster moves:

  • OF Michael Saunders returned from rehab assignment at AAA Tacoma and activated from 15-day disabled list.
  • OF Carlos Peguero optioned to AAA Tacoma.

Saunders will be in uniform (#55) and available for tonight's 7:10 p.m. game vs. the Baltimore Orioles at Safeco Field.

Saunders has been on the disabled list since April 11 with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder. He was injured in the first inning of the game on April 10, crashing into the right-field fence while catching a fly ball of the bat of Houston's Jose Altuve to lead off the game. In 9 games this season, Saunders is hitting .286 (8x28) with 1 double, 1 triple, 1 home run and 5 RBI.

In three rehab appearances with the Tacoma Rainiers Saunders went 2-for-11 (.182) with 2 runs scored, one double, one triple and 2 RBI.

Peguero saw action in two games with the Mariners, batting .333 (2x6) with a home run and stolen base.
