The 2013 Seattle Mariners Caravan hits the road on Wednesday, January 9, with the first stops in Covington (South King County), Tacoma and Lacey. Over a three-week period (January 9-25), the Caravan will make stops in 26 communities across the Pacific Northwest from Portland to Vancouver, B.C., Longview to Spokane, and points in between.
At various stops on the Caravan, current and former Seattle Mariners players, announcers, and the Mariner Moose host assemblies for elementary school students and free public autograph and photo sessions.
Scheduled to appear on Week 1 are infielder/outfielder Mike Carp and catcher John Jaso, former Mariners catcher and broadcaster Dan Wilson, broadcaster Dave Sims, and the Mariner Moose.
Day 1 stops include:
D.R.E.A.M. Team assembly for students at Crestwood Elementary School (12:30-1pm, 25225 180th Ave. SE)
Get Well visit to patients at Tacoma’s Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital (1:45-2:45pm, 317 Martin Luther King Jr. Way)
Free public autograph session at Saint Martin’s University (Worthington Center) in Lacey from 4:15-5:45pm.
In addition to the first day’s stops, the first week of the Caravan includes Chehalis, Centralia, Portland, Longview and Kelso.
The Seattle Mariners 2013 Caravan Week 2 stops include Yakima, Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Walla Walla and Tri-Cities.
Caravan Week 3 stops are Mt. Vernon, Bellingham, Ferndale, Vancouver, BC, Delta, BC, Surrey, BC, Bellevue, Tacoma and Tukwila.
Other Mariners scheduled to appear at Caravan stops include Casper Wells, Charlie Furbush, Lucas Luetge, Michael Saunders, Tom Wilhelmsen, Mike Blowers and Rick Rizzs.
