In New York to run the now-cancelled NY Marathon, Martinez Foundation co-founder, Holli Martinez, and her aunt Leslie Wetherholt are coordinating an informal marathon to benefit relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy.
“We all have different reasons for running a marathon, but we chose NY because there is no other place on earth like this city. We are now running for the city, to support New York Cares in their efforts to provide resources to those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
If you would like to support our fellow New Yorkers, please join us at the corner of Columbus Circle and Central Park Drive. Bring your fuel, hydration and cheering squad. Run a marathon, or run a mile – and let’s have the most memorable run of our life,” said Holli Martinez.
Former Seattle Mariner, MLB All-Star, Edgar Martinez is in NY supporting Holli, Leslie and their growing group of determined runners.
