Gutierrez, 29, left the game last night versus Boston after being struck on the side of the head on an errant pick-off attempt in the fourth inning. Since being activated from the disabled list on June 13, Gutierrez was hitting .267 (12x45) with 2 doubles, 2 home runs and 9 RBI in 13 games played.
Gutierrez was on a rehab assignment with AAA Tacoma from June 2-13. In 10 games with the Rainiers he batted .211 (8x38) with 5 runs scored, 3 doubles and 1 RBI. Gutierrez was placed on the disabled list on March 28 (retro to 3/24) with a partial tear of his right pectoral muscle suffered Feb. 28 during a spring training workout in Peoria, Ariz.
Delabar, 28, returns to Seattle for his third stint with the team. After making the club out of spring training, he was optioned to Tacoma May 30, recalled June 13 and optioned to AAA again on June 16. In his last appearance with Seattle he tossed 2.0 shutout innings on June 14 against San Diego. Overall, he has appeared in 27 games with the Mariners this season, going 1-1 with a 4.78 ERA (14 ER, 26.1 IP). He has allowed a run in only 5 of his last 21 appearances with the Mariners, dating back to April 17. At Tacoma, he has combined for an 0-1, 3.75 mark (5 ER, 12.0 IP) in 9 games during his two stretches with the Rainiers.
