SEATTLE -- The Mariners have been suffering through some injury woes lately, but a couple of those absences are about to come to an end. Jeff Clement has been out of the lineup the past three days with a sore left knee, but it appears that will be very temporary. "I'm hoping we catch him [Tuesday], that's what we're thinking," manager Jim Riggleman said. "He may get a pinch-hitting stint tonight, or whatever, but we plan on catching him tomorrow."
Starting pitcher Carlos Silva, who went on the disabled list on Aug. 16 with triceps tendinitis in his right elbow, has been penciled in by Riggleman for a return on Sunday against the Indians in Cleveland. That's the day that Silva is eligible to come off the disabled list. Left-hander Erik Bedard also saw some action on Monday, throwing 50 pitches from 90 feet, according to Riggleman. The manager said that it went well and Bedard will throw again on Tuesday. He still is not throwing off a mound, and there is no timetable set on a return.
