THIS WEEKEND: The Athletics and Mariners will face-off for a third “opener” on Friday. The two played each other on March 28 as part of the Gloops Japan Opening Series 2012, and the Mariners were the visiting team for the A’s home opener on April 6. Now the A’s, who lost each of the previous two “openers” return the favor in Seattle’s first home game. NEXT WEEK: The Mariners will continue their homestand starting Tuesday against the Indians and conclude with a three game series against Chicago starting Friday, April 20.
