KANSAS CITY -- Ichiro Suzuki has a plethora of hitting accomplishments in his Major League career, and he added a Kansas City entry on Friday night.
With his two-hit game against the Royals in the Mariners' 6-5 loss, Suzuki now has 10 consecutive multihit games at Kauffman Stadium, passing George Brett's mark of nine set in 1979.
Suzuki has recorded a hit in 16 consecutive games at Kauffman Stadium, and has at least one hit in 39 of 50 games in Kansas City.
Suzuki said through his translator that there's nothing special about hitting at Kauffman.
"It's a standard ballpark, just like the other stadiums," Suzuki said. "I don't feel any kind of advantage."
